The Ford Fusion is a family of mid-size sedans manufactured by the American automaker, Ford. The first generation was released in 2005 and has since been redesigned for 2021 with enhancements to the body style, engine options, transmission system, and fuel economy. The car models are available in three levels: SE (standard), SEL (upgraded), and Titanium (luxury).
The four engine types are EcoBoost turbocharged gasoline engines, hybrids powered by either lithium-ion or lead-acid batteries, flex-fuel E85 ethanol capable gas engines that can run on unleaded gasoline, or 85% ethanol/15% gasoline blend called E85; as well as conventional gas engines which only use unleaded gasoline.
The first generation of the Ford Fusion was powered by four-cylinder (I4) engines. The new 2021 model uses modified versions of the previous generation's engines with improved fuel efficiency, reduced emissions, and increased horsepower; as well as three additional EcoBoost powerplants that are turbocharged and have no direct linkage to any other Ford Motor Company cars.
